In 2014, Cowart was asked to speak at a conference in Nashville, in which he turned down because he wasn’t a speaker and didn’t have any talks prepared. He then changed his mind because he had an idea to create a visual talk that told his life story.

That talk performed so well that it went on to launch a speaking career for Cowart as well as a book deal with Harper Collins. The video was later posted online and was viewed by millions on Facebook.
